Castlemaine Children’s Choir – term 4


The Castlemaine Children’s Choir is now in it’s second year. It’s open to all children in the shire aged 7 and above who would enjoy singing in a larger group. The choir provides the opportunity to develop musical skills and perform as a group. Sessions involve:

  • vocal warm ups;
  • pitch and rhythm activities;
  • music games;
  • learning new pieces;
  • and some collaboration with guest artists and local musicians.

 

The Castlemaine children’s Choir is open to any child aged 7 and above, who would enjoy singing with other children. The choir sessions involve vocal warm ups, pitch and rhythm activities, learning new pieces and familiar songs and there’s lots of time for fun music games too.

Term 4 will have a focus on Christmas songs which will lead to a performance at the end of the year.

 

Where: Choir takes place Saturday mornings at the Senior Citizens Hall, Mechanics Lane, Castlemaine.

When: 7 and above – 10.30-11.15

Choir Level 2: – Grade 5 and above (by audition) – 11.30-12.30

Cost: $60 for the 7 week term from Saturday 28th October to Saturday 9th December

Choir Leader: Tim Watson studied music at the Victorian College of the Arts for ten years and has been a primary school teacher and teacher of music to a variety of ages.
