Castlemaine Community House has nearly 30 years of experience in running adult education classes. We have ACFE-subsidised classes to increase your skills, courses to share the knowledge of food growing, cooking and preserving, and a range of courses which are run on a fee-for-service basis for health, leisure and pleasure. Even if a course has begun, it is sometimes possible to join. Click on the course titles below for details of each course, or check the calendar for what’s on.
Apple Mac Computers: will be offered again in 2015
Permaculture Design Course: We regularly run Permaculture Design Courses. With ACFE support we are able to offer this course at a very low cost. It begins with the basic principles of permaculture, starting with how water, soils and climate affect gardens, orchards and animals. Also includes both theoretical sessions and visits to and activities at working permaculture properties. We also have guest speakers. Details.
Certificate III in Permaculture 30868QLD: This is the first time we have run this course! The course follows on from the introductory PDC course (see above), and it may be possible to take individual modules. Details
Dance and fitness: The Nia Technique: The Nia Technique is a fusion fitness, movement, dance and lifestyle practice, designed for all fitness levels and body types for both men and women. We have a series of weekly group classes on Monday evenings – starting up again in 2015 after a spring and summer break. Details.
