Castlemaine Community House has 30 years of experience in running adult education classes.
This term we have ACFE-subsidised classes to increase your skills and a range of courses which are run on a fee-for-service basis for health, leisure and pleasure. Even if a course has begun, it is sometimes possible to join. Click on the course titles below for details of each course.
Ink-Roll-Print! An introduction to printing including: Relief printing, hand printing and printing on the press! And lots more! Open to complete beginners! It’s a collaboration with the newly formed Castlemaine Press, using their studio at Lot 19. Details.
Permaculture Design Course: We regularly run Permaculture Design Courses. With ACFE support we are able to offer this course at a very low cost. It begins with the basic principles of permaculture, starting with how water, soils and climate affect gardens, orchards and animals. Also includes both theoretical sessions and visits to and activities at working permaculture properties. We also have guest speakers. The next course starts on Tuesday 21 July. Details.
Certificate III in Permaculture 30868QLD: The course follows on from the introductory PDC course (see above), and it may be possible to take individual modules. There will be a new course starting in October, with an information session in September. Details
Coming soon! iPhone & iPad classes. Register your interest now by phone 5472 4852 or by email!
Auslan: We have a course for complete beginners, and one for those who’ve already begun to sign. Both courses are taught in complete silence – apart from some laughter! – and it’s surprising how easily you can start to communicate. Details.
