Exploring Digital Creativity
Exploring Digital Creativity
Following on from the free ABC Open workshops, there will be a course of eight sessions on using digital media creatively.
Come explore the exciting world of digital creativity, and learn how to perform feats of digital magic for low-to-no cost! If you have a Mac or PC, a basic working knowledge of to use it, and at least a camera-equipped mobile phone, then you’re already well on your way to producing respectable photography, graphics, audio and video by using free software, a few additional cheaply-available items and a little creative know-how.
Led by creative technologist Melody Ayres-Griffiths (Community Editor, ABC Pool), these eight sessions will also take an introductory look at semi-professional photography / video equipment, home digital audio production, music sequencing and basic graphic design / computer animation – on a budget! By the time we’re finished, you’ll see how all of these can come together to create remarkably polished, semi-professional presentations, and how you can share your works and collaborate with others online through forums such as the ABC’s Pool community media website.
Students will be expected to spend around an additional two hours per week on ‘homework’.
Cost: $160; concessions: $110
Thursdays, 12.30-3pm
Starts 16 February 2012 for 8 sessions
