Jennifer Sharpe weaving the community tapestry

Jennifer Sharpe

Tapestry Weave

Tapestry weaving is an ancient meditative technique which can be used to make both traditional and modern designs. Jennifer Sharpe has been a weaver for more than 30 years, and is a former member of the Australian Tapestry Workshop. She has exhibited her work in several solo exhibitions as well as many group shows. Most recently her work has been on display in the Doveton Street Corner Café. In 2011 Jennifer led the creation of the Castlemaine Community House’s commemorative community tapestry, to a design by well-known local artist Helen Kelly.

Jennifer will be teaching a course of eight sessions, starting in April, during which you can make your own small tapestry or sampler. We have some small frames for you to use, but start collecting wool now!

Cost: $110; concessions $95.

Other details will be announced later.
