Mount Alexander Sustainability Group
The Sustainability Group has over 1000 voting members: local people taking action to combat climate change. We employ four staff, supported by volunteers, at the MASG office in Castlemaine, central Victoria. More information is on Mount Alexander Sustainability Group website.
Schools
We work with a number of schools in the area, in many ways. Some of our choirs use school rooms, and Growing Abundance delivers fresh fruit regularly to primary schools, and runs the canteen at the Secondary College.
We have links with the schools listed below, and more:
Winters Flat Primary School
Chewton Primary School
Castlemaine CWA

Mount Alexander Community Wind
Mount Alexander Community Wind is a community-based project with a vision to establish a locally ownd and operated wind farm to supply the energy needs of Mount Alexander Shire. Clean, renewable energy will be generated to replace energy derived from burning non-renewable brown coal.
We are currently at the stage of gathering community interest and input. We do not currently have a site. Preliminary analysis by our team of professionals indicates that there are several areas in our shire that will offer good wind speeds as well as meeting strong social, technical, legal and environmental standards.
