Seniors Festival at Castlemaine Library

Castlemaine Library have a number of events suitable for seniors (and people of all ages!) during the month of October.

 


Grandparents Story Time:

Bring your Grandparent or special friend along to the Library for a special Story Time that celebrates how wonderful Grandparents are!
Stories, songs and rhymes for 3-5 year olds.

Dr Debra Campbell in conversation with The Art Of Healing:

Dr Debra Campbell is an author and psychologist and consults on everything from relationships to panic, to depression and grief. Her thesis on love and emotional intelligence won the Relationships category award from The Australian Psychological Society and her recent book Lovelands helps readers understand how to overcome hurts and losses and become the hero of their lives. In this 2nd ‘In Conversation with The Art of Healing ‘ interview editor/publisher Cate Mercer will talk with Debra about what types of assistance are available for people with mental health issues, how to find what is right for you, and what seems to be the most effective.

A very special literary event featuring award winning author, journalist and playwright Barry Dickins, long time fan and admirer of the famous American poet Sylvia Plath. Barry’s play ‘A Kind of Fabulous Hatred’ imagines her final hours and pays homage to her most brilliant work of all. Join Barry for his erudite reflections on Sylvia’s life and writings along with Narelle Stone for readings of her most beautiful poems.
