Tax Help Program

Tax Help Program – Coming soon to Castlemaine Community House

If you need help lodging your tax return, you may be eligible for the Tax Help program.

Tax Help is conducted at Castlemaine Community House by an ATO-trained and accredited community volunteer who provides a free and confidential service to help people complete their tax returns.

Tax Help is available on Thursdays from the second week in August to the 31st October.

If your tax affairs are relatively uncomplicated then it is probable that you will be eligible for Tax Help. (Some, more complex, matters such as selling shares, owning a rental property or running a business, are outside the scope of Tax Help )

The Tax Help Volunteer can help you lodge your tax return or amendment online or claim a refund of franking credits. The Tax Help service can also deal with past year returns if you have fallen behind in your lodgements.

If the volunteer works out that you don’t need to lodge a tax return, they can help you complete a ‘non-lodgment advice’.

If you’re eligible for Tax Help, you will need a myGov account linked to the ATO.

If necessary, our volunteer can help you create your myGov account and link to the ATO.

When you are ready to make an appointment, phone us on 5472 4842, or call in at 65 Templeton St, Castlemaine.
