Stand Up – Bystander Training

Bystander training recognises that we all have a role in addressing the culture that allows violence against women to occur . This training provides participants with knowledge, confidence and practical tools to safely and effectively challenge behaviours such as sexist jokes and discrimination based on gender. It provides and undertaking that domestic violence is strongly linked to an imbalance of power and respect.

This 90 minute workshop, presented by Women’s Health Loddon Mallee, covers:

  • the nature and prevalence of violence against women and children;
  • the impacts and costs of violence against women and children to individuals and communities;
  • the underlying causes of violence against women;
  • the role we all have to play in preventing violence against women and promoting respectful relationships, and;
  • how to be an active bystander.
