Expressive Watercolour

This is a group for those who wish to discover a new approach to watercolour that is bold, free and expressive. After learning the basics of Watercolour in the first class, learn to let go and be free with this fascinating medium.

This is an inspiring workshop for all levels – advanced painters who want to loosen up in their approach to painting and generate new ideas, plus beginners who wish to develop their skills in painting.

In this course you will have the opportunity to:

  • Master the fundamentals of watercolour painting
  • Build a clear and transluscent painting from start to finish
  • Explore different watercolour styles such as creating a smooth and graduated washes, wet in wet, dry brush techniques, different brushwork styles
  • Play with mixed media to create dynamic and interesting paintings

Please bring:

  •   1 Neef 970, round, Taklon brush, size 12 (can be purchased from Castlemaine Art Supplies)
  •   A white plate for mixing paint.

All other materials and equipment for the session will be supplied in the first class only. 

A minimum deposit of 25% must be paid before 16th January to secure a place in this course.

Date: Thursday, 23rd January – 6th February (3 weeks)
Time: 10.00am – 4.00pm (week 1) and 10.00am – 1.00pm (30th Jan & 6th Feb)
Where: Castlemaine Community House, 30 Templeton Street.
Cost: $250 (full) / $230 (Conc. or Early Bird Discount. EBD available until 2nd January)

Tutors: Eleni Rivers.

Eleni is a very experience facilitator of this medium which she has taught in both Australia and internationally for over 30 years. Sessions are informal yet structured in a way to bring out your inner artist and learn new techniques and approaches.
