Train the Trainers: Teaching Electronics to Kids

August 17 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 1:00 pm on Saturday, repeating until 24 August, 2019

Following on from a teacher and parent led electronics club at a local primary school, this course will train adults (parents and teachers) to run a club for themselves at their school or scout group.

The first hour will enable the group to discuss the benefits of exposing kids to practical electronics construction techniques and to hear from participants in the current club. The following 2 hours will enable participants to learn or improve their soldering skills by building a kit into a working device using provided tools. The aim is to enable the group to supervise kids by knowing the pitfalls.

The second week will continue the practical exercise and the last hour will enable the group to discuss the practicalities of setting up a similar club in other schools and organisations in the local area.

A minimum deposit of 25% must be paid before 12th August to secure a place in this workshop!
