Scene Study Acting Course

Let’s act now!

Are you interested in doing Scene Study Acting Sessions at the Castlemaine Community House in 2019?

Scene Study is where you are given a monologue or a scene – you work on it during the week, present it at the weekly class and then you are given feedback. You keep doing the scene until you nail it.

Hobo Playhouse Theatre Company’s Artistic Director Jeff Jones will run the course.  Jeff is an actor/director/teacher who trained at the Actors’ Mill in Sydney 40 years ago and has practised the Method Acting technique ever since.

Method Acting is a technique that lets you unleash raw emotion every time you step onto a stage or stand in front of a camera. It’s a technique that uses your life experience … your memories … to connect with your character’s plight. It enables you to share your character’s emotions – their joys, their agonies and their vulnerabilities.

The first two sessions will be dedicated to “An Introduction to Method Acting,” and there will be updates in every session after that.

The cost of the course is $150 per term. Beginners and experienced actors (aged 18 years and older) are welcome. Places are limited and please note the course is nearly half full already. There are no auditions – it will be a case of first in best dressed. So give Jeff a call. This class is filling fast!

When: Monday nights at 7.30pm – beginning April 8th (10 weeks).
The classes run for three hours.

Where: 30 Templeton Street, Castlemaine.

Cost: $150 per term. Concession price: $130 per term.
