Peer Support Group Launch

Please join us!

On behalf of the ELM Peer Support Group, we would like to invite you to our Peer Support Group Launch.  It will be held on Saturday 17 March 2018 from 1pm-4pm at Victory Park, Castlemaine.  This is a free community gathering for the whole family, as part of the International Day of Happiness.

The Peer Support Group ~ support for people bereaved by suicide ~ is a branch of the ELM Network. The group will commence monthly meetings in April, on the third Wednesday of every month. The Peer Support Group is run by volunteers from the community who have been trained to support those bereaved by suicide, and who have shared similar loss themselves.

For more information about the Peer Support Group please contact Rachel on theELMpsg@gmail.com.

Why we have this site

Our overall aim is to work together with the community to reduce the number of suicides and suicide attempts in Mount Alexander.  This page helps us to:

  • connect with the community and let people know about the ELM Network
  • open the conversation about suicide and its prevention in order to tackle stigma
  • promote local and relevant state or national services that offer support to people impacted by suicide and mental illness
  • promote suicide prevention and related events happening in the local area
  • promote mental health and well-being
